ARSCO Completes Fast-Track HVAC Renovation at Northern Arizona University
The University is now recognized as a world leader in green buildings.
ARSCO recently completed a fast-track project for “NAU” focusing on Wilson Hall, the University’s freshmen residence. Included were 436 energy-saving radiator enclosures, in 3 sizes, all powder coated white. Each was manufactured from 16 gauge cold rolled steel, with a dual access door. ARSCO enclosures are designed for easiest, fastest installation, which helped with the short lead time: the project was started on June 18, 2011 and completed July 8.
ARSCO was honored to be chosen for this important renovation, one of several the University has completed in recent months. In each case, energy efficiency was a strong consideration in the choice of vendors, and products.
As charter signatory for the American College and University Presidents’ Climate Commitment President John Haeger and Northern Arizona University took a significant step to becoming carbon neutral by 2020.
NAU has become a leader for “green” construction on university campuses, with buildings using the latest sustainability technology.
One major new building project, The NAU Applied Research and Development building, earned a total 60 of a possible 69 points from U.S. Green Building Council to become the greenest building in Arizona, and the third highest LEED point total in the world.
